Boards bumped at corners and foxed, with several small patches of damp staining. Small tear to cloth at front joint. Ink inscription to top of front board. Text block age toned and foxed. Inscribed by J.E.C., presumably the author, to Benjamin O. Peers on second front free endpaper. An ex-library copy with usual markings, including bookplate to front pastedown, stamps to several pages, including title page. "Withdrawn" stamp to title page verso.
