This first edition of Corvisart's treatise on heart diseases was written by C.E. Horeau from notes based on Corvisart's lectures. Jean-Nicolas Corvisart (1755-1821), expert in cardiology, was the favorite physician of Napoleon Bonaparte, to whom this book is dedicated. Napoleon reportedly said, "I don't believe in medicine, but I believe in Corvisart"

Octavo, lvi, 484, [1, errata] pages. In Very Good condition. Bound in contemporary calf, rebacked with modern gilt-decorated spine and leather spine label. Some slight rubbing to corners. Age-browned, but text clean and crisp. Marbled endpapers. IM consignment. Shelve in Room G.
