A copy of the first edition of the first book printed on medicinal uses of the elderberry tree, published by the author's brother two years after the author's death. Later translated into English as 'The Anatomy of the Elder.'
12mo., [32], 298, [6] pages. In Good condition. Bound in modern red cloth with gilt titling to spine. Text block age-toned, trimmed from rebinding, in some cases resulting in loss of page numbers, lettering to top margin. A previous owner's stamp appears on verso of title page. Old ink underlining and marginalia scattered throughout the text. Final leaf with an open tear which may have resulted in minor loss of text. MF Consignment. Shelved in Upstairs Hall.
