Folios, four volumes. In Good plus condition. Bound in early half red morocco and marbled boards. Spines with gilt rules, ornaments, and lettering. All volumes with moderate rubbing, scraping, and shelfwear, particularly to corners, heads and tails of spines, and hinges. Volume 1 in Fair condition, with half of signatures and plates loose from binding, but all present. Mild to heavy foxing through all volumes, ranging from non-existent to detrimental. Illustrated with all 27 hand-colored engraved plates by Alexander Lawson after Titian R. Peale, A. Rider, and 1 after J.J. Audubon. Plates generally bright and clean.
