Samuel Stryk is best known for his 'Usus modernus pandectarum,' which dealt with the reception of Roman law in Germany. He is considered to be one of the most important representatives of the development history of German law in the 17th and 18th centuries. He studied at the University of Frankfurt (Oder), and then went on to a licentiate in law in May 1665 and received his doctorate in law in December. This collection of his 'Examination on feudal law' was published in Franckfurt an der Oder 3 years after his death in 1710.
