More Details
First published in 1764, Considerations is widely attributed to d'Argenson (an adviser to Louis XV, and friend to Montesquieu and Voltaire). He may have written this scathing analysis of French society and government as early as the 1730s. It is to d'Argenson that Diderot and d'Alembert dedicated the first volume of the Encyclopedie.
