Octavo, [1]-411 pages. In Fair condition. Bound in green cloth with gilt lettering and gilt and blind stamped decoration. Boards have head edge of spine chipped off, tearing and splitting to both joints, glue spot on spine, boards exposed at corners and along edges, and fraying to edges. Binding loose. Text block has light age toning to edges, partial splitting to front interior hinge, writing in pen on second page, pages 115 to 126 mostly detached with splitting to gutters surrounding the section of pages, and heavy splitting to rear interior hinge. First issue with all text points, uncorrected state of the text with "estate" on page 124, "do not" on page 263, and "reigned" on page 362, Franklin Press imprint on the copyright page. Second state of binding, with the center rosette on the back-strip 1/16 inch below the fillet. BAL 3402. [Shelved in Room G].
