More Details
This printing of The King's Stilts is not in Younger's bibliography, and runs counter to the standard description of the 200/200 price being the Second Printing/Issue. The First Printing had a binding of large red panels with yellow lettering, and later printings are bound in all-yellow cloth with no red panel and red lettering. With the First Printing being priced at 150/150 and most other early printings being 200/200, and Horton Hears a Who being published originally with a price of 150/150 in the fall of 1940, this copy is presumed to be 1941 or later. The dust jacket is also 3cm shorter than the boards, but does not appear to be married.
Quarto, unpaginated. In Very Good condition with Very Good dust jacket. Spine grey. Dust jacket protected with a mylar covering; price uncut: "175/175." Some mild shelf wear, with a small open tear to lower for corner of front cover and minor chipping to corners. First Edition, Early Printing Variant, with full orange binding, titling stamped in dark blue/green, and dust jacket priced at 175/175 with Horton Hears a Who ad to rear flap priced at "$1.75." Two titles listed on copyright page, which is dated 1939. AL Consignment. Shelved in Case 2.
