The first issue (or state) of the first printing has the words "and only moved because the heavy hands were pendula" on the bottom of page 9, as well as a bullet between the two 8's on the page number of page 88. This state has both of those points corrected.

Octavo, 186 pages. In Very Good minus condition with a Good plus dust jacket. Spine faded blue to tan with black lettering. Dust jacket protected in mylar covering, with price cut. Chipping and creasing along edges of dust jacket. Sun-fading to dust jacket, as well as some staining to rear cover. Small worming to front flap. Foxing to edges of textblock. Top edge of textblock dyed blue. Shelved in Case 13.
